Yeast infection – Different forms and the ways to treat it

In actuality, yeasts are good for health if present in the right proportion but if that balance gets disrupted you will have to seek medication for the infection.It is a kind of fungus which is referred to as Candida; it is the scientific version. Yeast is in general present on human skin like the mouth, esophagus, and vagina and so on. In fact, it is said that 20-50% of women in general have yeast in their vagina and thus vaginal yeast infection is the most common form of yeast infection. The other forms of yeast infections or the body parts of human beings which can suffer from yeast infection is the penis, mouth, esophagus, skin and so on.

The different forms of yeast infection

As has been said above yeast infection can occur at different places of the body. If it occurs in the esophageal tract, it can result in painful swallowing and white parches can occur inside the mouth and throat. It can also happen in your oral areas. Other than the mouth and the esophageal tract, yeast infection can occur on the skin, on fingers and toes and the joints and even your lips and it can cause a burning sensation on your skin. Other than that, you may also see a kind of cracked skin, you may have itching and feel a kind of moistness at that area. It can cause pain and the skin may get inflamed and there may also start releasing pus. The yeast infection can also cause peeling of the skin, there may occur blisters on the skin and so on.

Other than your mouth, esophagus and skin, it can also occur inside and also outside the vagina or the penis and the urinary tract too. This can result in inflammation of those parts and, a burning sensation in those parts, unpleasant odor, and irritation of these areas, painful urination and even swelling of those parts.

The different known yeast infections are Balanitis, Thrush, Vulva-Vaginal candidiasis, Moniliasis, Intertrigo and so on.

Yeast infection can be treated with the help of anti-fungal medicines. These medicines are in common applied topically in and around the affected areas. Other than this, you can also take medicines in order to treat the yeast infection.

However, before going to doctor and before applying the medicines, it is important for you to wash the area with simple and clean water and soap. Then you can apply vinegar in that area or douche that area with vinegar added to the douche solution. Use clean garments which may also be affected with yeast. Also remember that it is important for you to avoid reusing the already used vinegar solution.
